Therapy Intensives

Reconnect. Reignite. Renew.

Your Relationship Can’t Wait Months to Improve

✔️ You’re feeling disconnected, stuck, or on the verge of breaking apart.
✔️ Conflict, resentment, or emotional distance is growing, and you don’t know how to fix it.
✔️ Traditional weekly therapy feels too slow—you need focused, immediate support.
✔️ Your schedules make it difficult to commit to ongoing sessions.
✔️ You want to repair, heal, and reignite your relationship and your sexual intimacy—before it’s too late.

If you’re struggling in your relationship, you don’t have to spend months in therapy to start seeing real change.
A couples therapy intensive provides the deep, focused support you need to get unstuck, heal, and rebuild—quickly.

What is a Couples Therapy Intensive?

A couples intensive is an immersive, accelerated approach to therapy that helps you and your partner make real progress in a short period of time. Instead of working through issues over months, we dedicate one or more full days to diving deep into your relationship challenges and creating lasting change.

With this concentrated time together, you can:

  • Break through years of built-up resentment and misunderstanding.

  • Learn how to communicate effectively and rebuild emotional intimacy.

  • Resolve conflicts that keep repeating, so they don’t control your relationship.

  • Address intimacy issues, including desire differences or sexual disconnect.

  • Walk away with clarity, tools, and a renewed sense of partnership.

What to Expect from Your Intensive

A Customized Experience – We tailor the intensive to your unique struggles, whether it’s communication breakdowns, trust issues, intimacy concerns, or long-standing resentment. Prior preparation allows us to hit the ground running when we start the intensive session.
Deep & Focused Work – Without the time constraints of weekly sessions, we can get to the root of your issues and create real shifts in your dynamic. We bypass the “catch-up” and “wrap-up” of weekly sessions and dive straight into what matters most. A one-day intensive can yield the equivalent deep work of 10 regular sessions—more than two months’ worth of therapy—condensed into a single day, allowing for faster breakthroughs and deeper transformation.
Practical, Actionable Tools – You’ll leave with strategies to improve your relationship immediately and long-term.
A Safe, Guided Space – Whether in person or virtual, the intensive is designed to foster honest conversations and deep reconnection.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • An intensive may be a good option for you if:

✔️ You want to accelerate your progress and make big changes in a short time.
✔️ You don’t have the time or patience for weekly sessions.
✔️ You’re facing a crisis or emotional challenge and need immediate support.
✔️ You’re ready for deep work and lasting transformation.

I’m happy to talk with you so you can make the best decision for your needs.

  • Therapy intensives provide a more effective and efficient alternative to traditional 50-minute sessions. In a standard session, a portion of the time—often 5-10 minutes at the beginning—is spent checking in, and another 5-10 minutes at the end is used for wrapping up. This leaves only about 30-40 minutes for deep therapeutic work.

In contrast, a 3-hour therapy intensive allows for approximately 2.5 hours of focused, uninterrupted progress. That’s the equivalent deep work of five regular sessions—more than a month’s worth of therapy—condensed into a single day, allowing for faster breakthroughs and deeper transformation.

  • Couples sessions typically last 50 - 80 minutes and occur weekly or bi-weekly.

Therapy intensives are intentionally designed to jumpstart your progress towards improving your relationship and healing past hurts. They range from 3 to 8 hour intensives and can cover the same ground you would in months of therapy.

I conduct intensives both in-person and online.

  • Neither is better. Research shows you can achieve the same results from either in-person or online therapy. The choice comes down to personal preference, along with both your and my availability. Many of my online clients prefer the efficiency of not wasting travel time to and from my office. Others prefer the confidentiality of online therapy.

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is due when you book your Therapy Intensive. The remaining 50% is due on the day of the first Intensive Session. I accept cash or credit cards, including HSA’s.

  • Therapy intensives are similar to individual or couple’s sessions with the exception that the work is very concentrated and can be emotionally intense.

I follow a structured format that enables us to efficiently cover a lot of ground, while also taking time for breaks during the process. I deliberately schedule a coffee/lunch break in the middle of the session to give you time to relax and get energized for the second half of the session.

Prior to the intensive, we will discuss what you want to accomplish and what areas are priorities for you. I carefully monitor our time to ensure we work on the things that are most important to you.

I intentionally create a relaxed, safe, and supportive environment so you feel comfortable talking and sharing your thoughts and feelings.

  • Typically, insurance will not cover the cost of a therapy intensive. They may cover a portion as an out-of-network cost, but I suggest you call customer service and find out before you book so you know exactly what the financial investment would be.

  • Absolutely! Additionally, it’s sometimes very beneficial to be exposed to another therapist’s feedback and ideas. However, I would want to consult with the other therapist to ensure we are working together to help your healing journey. I would need you to sign a release of information to allow me to talk with the other therapist.

  • Great question!

I am different from most therapists in that my style is very direct. I share information, offer suggestions and don’t shy away from challenging you to consider making changes to your thoughts, feelings and behaviors.

Although I always endeavor to be warm and empathetic, I want you to get results. I believe you are paying me for my many years of education and experience.

I am the type of therapist I would want for myself.

  • Please contact me to schedule a consultation. Therapy is a special relationship and each person has unique needs. I want to ensure we are the right fit for one another.
