Natalie is a senior at Blue Valley West.  I had the pleasure of photographing her older brother’s senior portraits, so it was lots of fun to have a chance to meet Natalie.  Plus, she is just gorgeous.  Her Mom is wonderful and we really had a great time at Natalie’s sessions.  We took her initial photos in the fall at  Kauffman Gardens and got weathered out by a storm and had to finish up on a cold morning in Loose Park.  Then, we waited patiently all winter for snow so we could take photos of Natalie with her horse in the snow.  We had a brief snowfall one day so we raced out to the stables and were able to get some fun images.  Thanks for such a great time together!

The first time we tried to take photos at this fountain, the water was blue!

Andrew is a senior at Aquinas who signed to play college soccer at Bradley.  What a great opportunity!  We did a full senior session for Andrew last year down in the West Bottoms, but decided to do a small studio session and a few soccer images.  It was brutally cold the late afternoon that we grabbed soem soccer photos.  Don’t let his shorts and grin fool you.  My hands were so frozen that I had trouble zooming my camera!

LOVE this shot!

The sun was setting behind him at the Overland Park Soccer Complex.   He posed with both his Aquinas and Sporting KC uniform.

You would never guess that we took this inside my home studio.  This is my favorite backdrop for senior guys.

Katie is a senior at Blue Valley West.  We had a blast taking her senior portraits and went all over  the city.  Katie glows in front of the camera and her fun personality shines through.  We started at the Liberty Memorial to get a shot with the cityscape behind her.  I LOVE this!  We ordered her wallets of these first two shots on metallic paper and they really pop.

Then we found this cool area with old semi containers stacked into a piece of art.

Then we ventured to Loose Park.  I think Katie looks so gorgeous in these.

Our last stop was the Kaufmann Gardens, where we found both some pretty fall and summer color!

This was the family’s session favorite and they ordered a big wall print.  Thanks for a great session Katie!

This senior loves the outdoors, so we planned his session to capture the outdoors in some places he loved, like his awesome backyard!  We also drove down the road a few miles and went to a wonderful field.  This first is my favorite from his session.  I think we were talking about his girlfriend, so he really smiled naturally.

I think this shot of him looks awesome and shows off his arms that are buff from hours of swim practice.

I love how his letter jacket really stands out against the colors of the field.

Brandon was one of the coolest seniors I’ve had a chance to photograph.  He was totally relaxed and fun and his portraits showed it. We explored a number of areas in downtown KC.

I love the way the light is hitting him in this shot!

He loved this vintage look by this old building. We ordered wallets of this on metallic paper.  They will POP!

We all loved this shot, with the city behind him.

By the river at sunset.  I think this is my new favorite spot in KC.  They ordered a big wall print of this.

Jessica should be a model.  Seriously.  She has such pose and grace in front of the camera and her gorgeous blue eyes just sparkle.  She was a joy to photograph and her family was super nice and supportive during her session.  I love it when it’s obvious how close Moms are to their daughters during the session.   I think I need to take lessons on how to accessorize from Jessica.  She had a natural gift of putting outfits and accessories together and she just looked fabulous in everything she wore.

Matt is a senior at Blue Valley West.  He has a very relaxed personality and we had a great time taking his senior pics.  He comes from a family of VERY smart people and someday, I know he’ll be a famous doctor inventing new ways to treat diseases or something equally amazing!  Best wishes Matt!  Have a great senior year!

I’m from Kansas City, but I travel back to the Binghamton, Vestal, Johnson City, Endicott, Endwell area multiple times per year to visit family.  In Kansas City, Senior Portraits are huge.  Parents view senior portraits as the last time they will have professional photos taken of their child before they get married, so they go all out.   We go on location throughout the city and take hundreds of photos and the seniors change multiple times.  The girls change the most and wear their favorite outfits, super fun earrings and necklaces, carves etc.   Most students in Vestal go to the mall for their senior yearbook photos, but this adventurous senior was game to do a senior safari around town to get some one-of-a-kind senior portraits.   I’m coming back to Vestal August 31-Septermber 6 and we plan to take some photos at the soccer field with his soccer gear.  Those will be a great memento of his time at Vestal.

We drove all around the Vestal and Binghamton area and jumped out of the car when we saw a cool location.  What a blast!  These are just a few of the many awesome shots we got!

I love photographing senior girls in the Westport/Plaza area.  I plan three hours for their sessions so they can change into many different outfits and then we always head to either Kaufmann Gardens or Loose Park before it gets too dark.  We did these photos on an extremely bright and sunny and HOT day.  I love the backlit ones (where the sun is behind her).

This was my favorite one from the session and the one they ordered to hang on the wall.  Love it!

I loved it that she wore her letter jacket.  I really like this alley, but every time I’m there, the same guy hits me up for money and follows me around until I give him some, which of course I always do.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this door!

Austin is a senior at Blue Valley West and he is one of the greatest guys around.  I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Austin and his family for many years, and I know he will have a wonderful life.  He wanted to go to the Bottoms for his senior portraits and we captured a lot of great shots amidst the grunge.

Austin is a senior rep at Blue Valley West High School so connect with him and he’ll get you some free wallets if you have your portrait session with Heather England Photography.

Thanks for the great pics Austin!
